Professor Filipe Nery, PhD – Porto Canal Clinic:
Benign Liver Tumors
Benign liver tumors are frequently identified during routine examinations and are usually asymptomatic. Hepatic hemangiomas, focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH), adenomas, cysts, etc., are examples of lesions that cause concern. Some of these lesions may be related to taking the contraceptive pill. It is necessary to confirm the diagnosis and, in particular situations, monitor and possibly remove them (as in the case of adenomas larger than 5 cm, due to their potential to become malignant). Participation of Professor Filipe Nery on the Porto Canal program “Consultório”, where some of these points were clarified.
