The Skin Clinic was born from the need to respond to the diversity and complexity of skin diseases, which today require an integrated, precise, and person-centered approach. The skin, the largest organ in the human body, plays an essential role in the protection, communication, and balance of the organism. Its diseases can reflect local alterations or systemic manifestations, requiring specialized knowledge and a comprehensive vision. The Skin Clinic is coordinated by Dr. Conceição Rosário, with extensive experience in Adult and Pediatric Dermatology, having been the Head of Service at the Maria Pia Pediatric Hospital in Porto. Our commitment is to offer excellent care with personalized clinical intervention. Each person is evaluated holistically—from the first observation to long-term follow-up—ensuring informed therapeutic decisions, safety, and consistent long-term results. Primarily focused on the evaluation of cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases, the Skin Clinic benefits from a truly multidisciplinary environment, in close collaboration with other medical areas such as autoimmunity, pediatrics, hepatology, pulmonology, and other specialties. This integration allows for a complete view of the patient and avoids fragmented care. The care process at the Skin Clinic is based on a structured clinical assessment, focusing on the rigorous characterization of lesions, differential diagnosis, and the definition of individualized treatment plans. Safety and therapeutic efficacy are central to our practice: we closely monitor clinical evolution, treatment tolerance, and functional impact, ensuring that each decision is tailored to the needs and profile of each patient.

The Autoimmune Diseases Clinic at CMIT was created with the goal of offering an integrated, specialized, and patient-centered approach to autoimmune diseases. These complex and often multisystemic pathologies require highly differentiated care, capable of combining clinical rigor, up-to-date research, and personalized attention. Our mission is to provide early diagnosis, treatment based on the best scientific evidence, and continuous follow-up, guaranteeing each patient a clear, safe, and effective care pathway. Autoimmune diseases can affect various organs and systems, with very diverse manifestations and varying impact on patients' lives. At the Autoimmunity Clinic, we evaluate and treat a wide spectrum of these conditions, including systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome, vasculitis, systemic sclerosis, inflammatory myopathies, Behçet's disease, among others. Our approach is based on three fundamental pillars: diagnostic precision, personalized therapy, and close monitoring of disease progression. The clinical journey at CMIT begins with a detailed and structured assessment, guided by updated protocols and validated instruments for evaluating the activity of autoimmune diseases. This methodology ensures uniformity, reliability, and consistency in the follow-up of our patients over time. Whenever necessary, we collaborate with other medical specialties, guaranteeing a truly multidisciplinary approach, appropriate to the complex nature of these pathologies. The therapeutic component is based on a comprehensive set of options, from conventional immunomodulatory drugs to biological agents and targeted therapies. Treatment is always individualized, considering clinical characteristics, prognostic factors, patient preferences, and impact on quality of life. Safety is a priority: we monitor adverse effects, infectious risk, cumulative toxicity, and drug interactions, ensuring informed and balanced therapeutic decisions. Finally, we value patient education and empowering them to live with a chronic disease. We believe that clear information, consistent communication, and close follow-up are essential to promote therapeutic adherence, recognize warning signs, and improve long-term outcomes. The CMIT Autoimmunity Clinic aims to establish itself as a national benchmark, combining clinical excellence, cutting-edge research, and humane, personalized care. Here, each patient is treated with rigor, science, and dedication.
