The Liver Clinic was born from the need to respond to the growing complexity of liver diseases, which today require an integrated, precise, and humane approach. The liver, a central organ in metabolic regulation, is located at the crossroads of multiple systems. Understanding and treating its diseases therefore requires vision and specialization. At CF, we have assembled a team of highly qualified professionals, under the coordination of Professor Dr. Filipe Nery, with solid academic training and extensive clinical experience in hepatology. Our commitment is to offer excellent care, supported by the most current science and personalized medicine. Each patient is evaluated holistically, from initial diagnosis to long-term follow-up, with the aim of ensuring informed therapeutic decisions and lasting results. Our practice covers the entire spectrum of liver diseases: from incidental analytical or imaging abnormalities to complex and rare diseases. We investigate and manage steatotic liver disease (fatty liver) and disease related to alcohol consumption, autoimmune diseases (such as autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, sclerosing cholangitis, or IgG4-related disease), metabolic diseases (alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, iron overload, copper overload, among others), viral, toxic, and vascular diseases (portal vein thrombosis, Budd-Chiari syndrome, portosinusoidal vascular disorder), and many others. We address chronic liver disease in its various aspects, from the early stages to compensated and decompensated stages. We offer advanced non-invasive assessment technologies, such as FibroScan®, which allows for precise quantification of fibrosis and hepatic steatosis, facilitating early diagnosis and rigorous monitoring of chronic liver diseases, and the possibility of conducting an ultrasound study with a highly specialized radiologist in liver pathology. Integrated within the Medical Research and Treatment Center (CMIT), the Liver Clinic benefits from a truly multidisciplinary environment, where hepatology is integrated with other specialties—autoimmune diseases, metabolism, lung, heart, among others. This integration ensures a comprehensive view of the patient, promoting communication between teams and avoiding fragmentation of care.
